Kathy Fish – President and Senior Advisor
Kathy Fish is the president and founder of Fish and Associates Financial Services, a boutique firm whose professionals provide personalized advice and financial planning services. Kathy has over 25 years of planning experience, and she understands the opportunities and challenges clients face during transition. Whether it is a planned retirement, an unexpected job transition, the sale of a business, or the loss of a loved one, Kathy will develop a customized plan to help map out your future. Kathy specializes in simplifying complex ideas and presenting them in a clear and concise manner.
Kathy received her MBA from the University of Memphis and has earned the professional designations of CFP®, Chartered life underwriter, and Chartered retirement planning counselor. She has been recognized by the Consumers’ Research Council of America as one of the top financial planners in the country.
Kathy is also a certified yoga instructor and takes an active role in her community, serving as a board member and past board president for Playhouse on the Square, and previously serving as the board chair of Friends for Life. Additionally, she is on the board of Playback Memphis and the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change. She is also a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Insights Group, sponsored by The Society of Entrepreneurs, as well as a founding partner of Fusion Advisor Network.
Kathy resides in Memphis, TN, with her husband, Kelly, and daughters, Kerry and Adele. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching yoga, traveling, cooking, biking, and volunteering.
Kerry Jackson – Lead Advisor and Director of Client Services
Kerry joined the firm in 2010 shortly after graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Cinema Studies. She quickly fell in love with the firm’s take on holistic financial planning and wealth management and made the decision to follow in her mother Kathy’s footsteps in 2012. Since then she has become a Certified Financial Planner™ certificant and received her Series 7 (General Securities), Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law) and TN insurance licenses. She is now a Lead Advisor and the Director of Client Services.
Kerry manages and oversees the client service staff, handles the ongoing financial planning and investment needs for Gen X and Millennial clients, conducts annual review meetings and works with Kathy in the planning implementation needs of the firm’s overall client base.
In her free time, she enjoys staying active with her dogs Emmy and Elliott, volunteering with local animal rescue groups, serving as Treasurer of the Board for Friends for Life, cooking for her friends, and traveling.
Jennifer Cissell - Client Services Associate
Jennifer brings her talent for organization and years of experience in office administration, customer service and marketing. Her work has always revolved heavily around client services; she is passionate about helping people. Jennifer holds her TN Insurance license for Life, Accident and Health. She is currently pursuing the Certified Financial Planner™ designation.
Jennifer is from NW Arkansas and made Memphis her home in 2008, when she moved here after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management from Lyon College in Batesville, AR.
When she’s not working, she enjoys watching the Grizzlies, Razorback football, spending time with her daughter, attending local events and traveling.
She handles all client service matters such as: requests for money, IRA Required Minimum Distributions, contributions, account modifications, client online account access and general questions regarding accounts. She also handles incoming checks, all new business account establishment, manages document storage and online web presence.
Amber Colvin - Office Administrator & Client Services Associate
Amber brings unique skills to the table: a background in office administration combined with a BA from Lyon College, an MA from University of Memphis, and, next year, a PhD from University of Memphis – all in European history of culture! This background in research and teaching plays into her work at Fish & Associates quite well, as she is the main contact for day to day questions, event marketing, social media, and maintaining client databases and information.
Amber is originally from Cotter, Arkansas and moved to Memphis in 2009. When not at work, she runs the local lifestyle blog History & Pearls, works on her dissertation, travels, spends time with her friends and boyfriend, and gets bossed around by a Basset Hound, a Great Pyrenees, and an orange cat.
